Founder & Lead Counsel

Protecting Parental Rights Across Southern California

Attorney Mitchell Krems is the Founder and Managing Partner of Family First Attorneys, where he serves as lead counsel for the firm's juvenile dependency and child welfare practice. His work is centered on protecting parents' rights and guiding families through some of the most difficult and emotionally charged legal challenges they will ever face.

Attorney Krems has represented and counseled hundreds of parents facing investigations by Child Protective Services (CPS), the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and other social service agencies throughout Southern California, including Orange County, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. He regularly handles juvenile dependency matters involving allegations of general neglect, failure to protect, physical abuse, positive toxicology findings in infants, fractures or other serious injuries, and related claims that place parental rights at risk.

In addition to juvenile dependency matters, Attorney Krems assists clients with domestic violence restraining orders and civil harassment restraining orders, helping individuals seek protection or defend against restraining order allegations that can significantly impact parental rights, custody, and future court proceedings.

Attorney Krems also advises individuals and couples on pre-marital and post-marital agreements, working with clients to proactively protect their rights, assets, and family interests through clear, enforceable legal agreements.

At the core of Attorney Krems' practice is a commitment to ensuring that every client's voice is heard. He has seen firsthand how investigative agencies can rely on incomplete, biased, or inaccurate reporting, often to the detriment of parents and families. Attorney Krems is known for challenging unsupported allegations, scrutinizing agency reports, and advocating forcefully to protect the constitutional and parental rights of his clients.

Understanding that no two families or cases are the same, Attorney Krems approaches every matter with diligence, empathy, and strategic focus. His mission is simple: to protect parental rights, defend families against government overreach, and help clients move forward with clarity, dignity, and strength.
